NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have 2 kids that goes to 43 school. The teachers and staff are all nice people but the cleanliness is horrible and there is very limited space. The cafe is very small and crowded. I am very involved with my kids education and I have to be more so involved with my daughter's because her teachers (both K and 1st) don't teach age appropriate work. My daughter should have learned to spell, read, add and subtract in K. I ask for more work and don't get it. This year she has had 3+ teachers and they do not push her to learn. I think she should know more and be able to do the work I give her. Her current "teacher" gave her points she didn't earn on multiple spelling tests that I have reviewed. This school needs better teachers, better cleaning crew, better food and more space. The grading system seems to sugar coat failure. A "2" should not be considered excellent or satisfactory if the student is partially meeting standards. Primarily white/suburban schools don't have theses problems and they want to keep schools segregated by "location" is slavery and racism really over? Our kids have to "win" a chance to get into a good school. Make city schools like suburban schoolsParent Review14y ago2 Reviews - School 44 Lincoln Park
