NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has been at Ivan Green for two years now. We've had wonderful teachers in both kinder and first grade! They're an International Baccalaureate school, participating in the Early Years Programme. It's been an experience, for sure. The staff is wonderful. My biggest complaint isn't necessarily with the school itself, but with the district. My child requires support services and we've been put through the ringer. Denied in kinder with a "reassessment" in June that didn't occur. We are now approaching the end of our first grade year with no progress. Thankfully, we don't have much academic issue, but the need for behavioral and emotional support is not and has not been met. If this changes in an appropriate time, I'd gladly come back and reassess. I graduated from Eastridge, and began my academic career as a 3rd grader at Ivan Green in 1998. The school has definitely made a lot of advancement in the last 20+ years, but their support services and policies are still behind the times.Parent Review7y ago4 Reviews - Dewitt Road Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe special education department could use significant improvement in promoting success for its students. There are still problematic behaviors that are being overlooked. Students who tend to escape or disengage are not being properly addressed, as they are placed in a section of the school that doesn't allow for their behaviors to be corrected. Consequently, when these students leave school, they continue to exhibit behaviors like running away. Many of them are merely receiving supervision rather than engaging in meaningful learning or developing independent skills, which complicates their transition into adulthood. My child’s experience was not positive; they were not provided with chances to learn from their mistakes. The staff often took over tasks, preventing any behavioral corrections because the children were never allowed the opportunity to struggle or fail. This lack of independence is concerning.Other Review6mo ago8 Reviews - St. Ambrose Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSt Ambrose is so much more than a private school, it is a community. When my child needed special services for speech, the school made sure to cross every t and dot every I as quickly as possible to get help. I've heard horror stories of how long it can take other schools to set up a meeting regarding support services but this was not the case here. My child was enrolled and receiving support within months. The staff know all the children, and the school has great communication with parents. It's so easy to get someone on the phone if you ever need help. My child loves the uniforms, feels like they're all on the same team! And they truly are. So much academic growth as well, I'm glad we found a place that can truly challenge my child.Parent Review3y ago1 Reviews
