My son Alex is entering his third year at Brinckerhoff and we couldn't be more pleased. The teachers, staff and PTA are so involved, they seem to be my son's family away from home. We look foward to another year and so sad to think that he only has four years left. Mrs. Platz is amazing and we are very fortunate to have her in charge of this fine establishment! There are some great teachers in this school, but an ineffective principal is what keeps this school from becoming great. This "leader" makes $150,000+ salary, and drives expensive cars, which shows how out of touch she is when almost half of the students in this building are considered "economically disadvantaged". Additionally, the principal treats certain teachers/staff with disdain and in an unprofessional manner; but will allow those she likes to get away with just about anything... these are not good characteristics of a strong leader. It's disgraceful and something needs to be done, but the district level administration won't do anything because they are just as corrupt. I would advise any family to stay far away from this school and Wappingers in general. They are behind the times, and will continue to be as long as these type of people remain in charge.
