"A lot of dog owners walk their dogs off leash and/or don't pick up their dog's poop. "

"Street Fair, Columbus Day parade, seafood restaurants, near the beach, views of the water through out the island and hiking and horse trails. Wouldn’t live anywhere else."

"City Island is a tight nit community. If you walking your dog, of course you are expected to curb your dog. The community have pride in where they live and cleanliness is a priority when it comes to that. That’s why it attracts people to seek out City Island as home. I work here so you can say that I live here because most of my time I’m here."

"It is an old fishing and boating village. Nowadays there are a lot of seafood restaurants, a few art galleries and antique stores. There are marinas to keep boats. There are a few yacht clubs to join. There is a wonderful public school that is K-8. There is a library, a supermarket and a small market. Lots of places to walk and you are surrounded by Long Island Sound. The west side of City Island faces Manhattan. "

"This is a great neighborhood to raise a family. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. We moved into our home and the neighbors immediately dropped by, left cards and introduced themselves. "

"It’s a small town with New York an hour transit ride away. We just moved here and it’s surreal, we even leave the door unlocked half the time when going out to grab a coffee etc. You can feel a strong sense of community pride here. "

"It’s a family oriented community, you get to know your neighbors even if it’s just faces. On the Island we do have an annual street fair, community board meetings, a food CO-OP and many more activities for residents to be involved in. It definitely has a small town feel which we love. "

"It is a quaint little fishing village that has a large number of seafood restaurants and lots of boaters and tourists. Summer traffic can be a challenge but living here is worth the minor inconvenience. Lovely neighbors and Water views make this little town a slice of heaven"
