"Always bumpy, always damaged, always dirty, never fixed, and always covered in cones. A city that wouldn’t waste a second to build a new hotel but absolutely take years to fix anything and reinvest back into itself"

"Huntridge is an historic neighborhood, part of downtown and Fremont. Life is Beautiful events, parades, museums. "

"It's by the Arts District. All parades happen in walking distance. The weekends are always busy with people coming to the local shops."

"Traffic once you get away from the houses. It’s downtown, and the city is always reconstructing something. "

"I wouldn't recommend bringing the kids to this area to trick or treat. It's more adult oriented. "

"Not the best area for raising kids. Lots of homeless people roaming around and trespassing on a daily basis. There’s not much respect for private property in this area. It’s city living so it’s pretty “normal” I guess? "

"Lots of people walk their dogs but don’t pick up after them. Especially in the rougher areas which makes it look a bit more run down than it already is. "

"I don’t have a dog but I assume people that do own dogs enjoy walking them around the neighborhood. "

"This area is nice for younger people or people that are here for the night life. I’ve lived here about 6 months and enjoy it. But would like more of a homey feeling that this place doesn’t have. "

"I’ve lived here for about 4 months. I feel safe walking at night sometimes. It’s a little bit of a pricey area which is annoying but I love it. It’s very up and coming. "

"There are a lot of dogs that are taken for walks each day. Little dog to large dogs. There’s no grass or parks nearby so the dogs just have a concrete jungle walk. It gets prettier when you start to go to wards the neighborhood where the attorney offices are located. "

"I love it down here. I’ve been here for 11 years and never had a single problem. It’s quiet, mostly, and there’s a real sense of community here. The neighborhood is growing rapidly as well. "

"Local bars, an old scary downtown turning into a fun exciting place to be. Eventually it will be livable w/kids but not quite yet. Adults that love art, music, festivals, restaurants and bars, this is your place "

"Downtown Vegas is an area in search of its identity. It is caught between the nostalgia of "Old Vegas", the legal / political / civic center of a metropolis and a trendy gentrification complete with funky eateries and housing. "

"This is downtown Las Vegas... cool place to live for young adults but not ideal for children. Fremont street is 2 blocks north and there are lots of events... Be prepared to be patient as traffic is horrible during Life is Beautiful or the many running events and parades. "

"The Mayfair area of downtown has a lot of young families. But there aren’t necessarily any parks close by and the only public school that downtown has is extremely overcrowded. Downtown is definitely not child friendly."

"Downtown is definitely more suitable for young adults with no children. The closest reasonably priced grocery store is an Albertsons that doesn’t necessarily have a wide variety of products. And although there are bus stops and access to taxis or ride sharing services, I personally can’t fathom not having a vehicle to get around, especially in this 100+ heat."
