"There are a couple of parks to take your dog to run and play. If you have a yard that’s the best for your canine friend. If you both are really active together even better. Cheers! "

"Most of the yards in the Near North Valley area are big enough for pups to run around and play. There are also lots of park areas!"

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Native American Community Academy (NACA) fails institutionally for several reasons. One of the most troubling aspects of NACA is its consistently low test scores in math and reading. These results suggest a systemic issue within the academic curriculum or instructional methods employed by the school. Such outcomes not only raise questions about the effectiveness of teaching strategies but also indicate a potential failure to adequately prepare students in fundamental subjects. Students report that many teachers simply give them assignments to work on and then sit behind their desks, failing to engage them. The administration at NACA is largely unlicensed and ruthlessly inefficient. The lack of qualified and experienced leadership has detrimental impact on the overall functioning of the school, affecting decision-making processes, policy implementation, and the overall educational experience for students and families. Lack of credentials raise serious doubts about NACA's ability to support learning. Many parents have learned that NACA neglects the needs of students with special education requirements. The failure to differentiate instruction for these students hinders their academic progress and overall well-being. Additionally, considering the student deficits in math and reading, on instructional time should be wasted, but it is. Instructional time at NACA is sacrificed in favor of “wellness” activities that students report they neither enjoy nor benefit from. This misallocation of instructional time on activities that do not resonate with students raises questions about the school's priorities and its commitment to delivering a well-rounded education. The Native American Community Academy faces serious challenges in terms of academic performance, administration, special education support, and the allocation of instructional time. These issues are detrimental to the overall educational experience for students and warrant careful consideration and prompt action to address and rectify the shortcomings within the institution.Parent Review2y ago2 Reviews - St Therese Catholic School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur daughter started attending St. Therese for 6th grade in the Fall of 2024 after our family relocated to Albuquerque. We were looking for a more close-knit and protective school environment. It is very much a caring, family-oriented, faith-based atmosphere. I love the positivity in the communications to families from the school staff, such as the weekly e-mail newsletter. The middle-school students live out their faith by serving as Mass (which is weekly) and reading-time "buddies" for the Pre-K and Kindergarten students. The school has also made great efforts to increase after-school activities, especially in STEM and music, offering programs from the Explora science museum and piano/guitar lessons after school. The drop-in before and after school care is very helpful for working parents. Tuition is also lower than most Catholic schools in the area. I feel that our family has a great relationship with the principal, teachers, and office staff. I would be very happy to share more about our experience as a family with a middle-school student at St. Therese; please feel free to send me a message!
