We have now had three of our children enrolled at Cedar Fork from 2019 through the present. We moved here from another county in NC and were very hesitant to trust in the teachers and administration after prior experiences in our old district. Two of our children required accommodations or special education instruction and we have been pleased. I have not felt dismissed or as if my children’s needs were an inconvenience. My children have had great teachers, who seem to care about the overall well being of the students, while also providing great communication with parents. I appreciate the emphasis on social-emotional learning and support, family and student engagement activities, and also the safe security process for building admission. We are looking to move soon and we are actively trying to stay in the Cedar Fork base.

This school used to be a spectacular school that was worth going, as someone who went their in it’s prime and when it started dropping off I can tell you it went from being great to average which is reflected in the ratings, family engagement, teaching, and many other things declined. Sterling Montessori obviously offers a different type of teaching in the Montessori method which is better in early stages of a child’s educational learning but isn’t as strong in the middle school program, the Montessori method doesn’t help prepare for high school particularly well. Sterling is an alright school if you want your kid to have good reading skills but is rather weak in its math program. Overall it’s an average school.

My Daughter has now been at Pleasant Grove for the past 2 years and she loves it - The friends she has made and the teachers she has been taught with. The teachers here really care for their students and go above and beyond in making sure they not only provide an inclusive environment but also do things (sometimes out of their own pocket) to ensure children have some snacks who couldn`t bring it on their own, books to drive curiosity and stay motivated. All in all, I think my child is in the right atmosphere for her to grow and shine - which means a lot !

This school has been incredible! From community engagement to supporting our children when they struggle in a subject. We have been at Parkside for 2 years and absolutely love them!
