Belsay

This isn't about the school, which so far I love! It is about the school of choice. We have it but good luck actually getting released from your district. I had to fight kearsley to get both daughters released. One is homeschooled the other is now at Bentley. Kearsley was terrible once oldest got to high school. One day they couldn't even find my daughter who was sitting in the library. My youngest is at Bentley and so far we love it. She has a great teacher and class size is 27 students. There is one teacher, 1 assistant teacher, a helper, and a paraprofessional. All for 27 students which means more one on one time.

I 1000% do NOT recommend this school district. 1 of my sons had constant behavior issues and wanted to blame the child, it wasn't until after we moved and went to another school that I found out how little paperwork they do for each child's portfolio and the carelessness of handling situations. I received calls every day about my son's behavior, and he received a suspension without any paperwork involved. Teachers sending children to a "reflection room", a white room type closet, WITHOUT informing the parent. Teachers acted like they cared, but the principal and teachers changed multiple times in the 3 years my children attended, not forming the lasting bonds/relationships needed for children to thrive. My son still sometimes has behavior problems in the new school, but it's very clear that he was treated like a nuisance rather than a blessing at the old school. I would have filed a very big complaint with the school system, but without undeniable evidence and support, I am left with only my truth against them. My children's peers also were very naughty, defiant, and inappropriate, I had to stop letting my daughter on the bus because boys would try to look up her dress/skirt multiple times and was not held accountable in any way. I am hoping I am the only one with this experience from the school district and that conditions are no longer like this. My children attended from 2021-2024.

My kids have gone to Genesee Christian since they were little. They have been in the school for over 6 years now. While no school is perfect, this school is perfect for them. The teachers pay close attention to their learning needs and their emotional needs. They work with us as parents when there are struggles in the home or just in daily life. We are so thankful for the family atmosphere at the school, in sports, in the classroom, in everything! There is always work to be done and ways to improve, but it is good to know that GCS is constantly growing and working on those things to help their students grow as well.

I do not recommend sending your kid to this school, they treat your kids very poorly and lots of favoritism is involved in this school. If you put your kid in their sports they aren't guaranteed to have playtime and will probably be benched. These teachers worry more about what your wearing than your education. And the vice president acts like she is in charge of everything
