Someone literally said watch out for sketchy summer hires and then 3 months later WES hires the assistant superintendent’s wife and the daughter of the WJHS principal…. Nepotism at its finest! I guess it should come as no surprise given that the superintendent’s entire family is also on the payroll.

There’s an incredible lack of academic rigor here (which is probably part of why WHS ranked 64th of 112 high schools in Maine this year). It’s a shame that the school committee is so out of touch with reality in this district. They love the benefits and special treatment that their own children get because they are on the board, but ignore the structural issues within the district that are harming every other student in Wells and Ogunquit. If you’re thinking about moving here, look elsewhere. Literally every other district around is more highly rated.

Sea Road is famous locally for its Christmas Fair and other events, especially band concerts and the geography bee. With a warm, safe atmosphere, this school has a variety of clubs and extra curricular activities to engage older kids. Academics are solid. I have never heard a complaint about the school from anyone in 25 years.
