Our child attended this ski academy during high school with the goal of combining academics and competitive skiing. Unfortunately, his experience was deeply negative. He was subjected to persistent peer bullying and social exclusion, which significantly affected his well-being. Despite raising concerns, the school’s response felt limited and ineffective, and the situation ultimately escalated in a way that made it clear he was no longer welcome.We also observed a pattern of differential treatment among students that contributed to a culture that felt inequitable and, at times, unsafe.After transferring to another ski school, our son was supported both academically and socially. He successfully graduated and went on to perform exceptionally well in skiing—progress that had not been fostered in his previous environment. This made it clear to us that the issue was not his ability or motivation, but the culture and systems of the original program.One additional point: when we were initially researching schools, the online reviews available at that time reflected far more significant concerns than what currently appears online. While I can’t speak to how or why that changed, the discrepancy stood out given our experience.I’m sharing this now, so families considering this school can make a fully informed decision. I strongly encourage parents to ask detailed questions about how bullying is handled, how student concerns are addressed, and whether the school’s culture is truly supportive for all students—not just some.
