Watkins Overlook

The teachers, the staff, everyone at this school was very nice and respectful. I couldn't find a school better that I will be sending my students to in the future. During recesses, teachers can watch over and see where every student is and is clear about boundaries. 10/10 school everybody is very nice.

This school has been a blessing for my kids ! Their grades improved so much in just 2 months ! My first son graduated form SKR and my second son is happy to go to school here. The principal Mrs. Burgess is the best ! You will find her outside every morning bringing the kids in and in the afternoon making sure the kids go home safely. She even stays with the kids for after-school club. She goes on field trips with the grades and spends time with the students at lunch. This principal is involved in eveything! The teachers have been here a long time they know how to teach and they stay year after year . The teachers and paraeducators are experianced and care for the students well being . The teacher contacted me because she noticed my son couldn't see from far, he needed glasses . They always welcome parents to volunteer.

We have had the worst experience with this school! Bullies will forever live on! My child has been bullied for 2 years now and despite my best efforts, the bullies get away unscathed! The administration will tell you anything to alleviate the situation. But won't actually handle anything! Physical and mental bullying is a BIG problem at this school! The only good thing about it is the teachers are fantastic despite the lack of support from administration.

My son, who is now 21 attended Gibbs. My daughter who is now 20, attended Gibbs and now my youngest who’s 6 is currently attending Gibbs. With such a big gap in time one would think there would be changes but this school continues to soar in the positive ways that it has for years… from the early morning greetings from all the smiling faces of the staff and many times who’s in attendance??? Yes, if u guess it right! Mrs Bosnic! Such a lovely principle! I pray and hope everyone has had a great experience at Gibbs as my kids has. My 2 eldest went on to college and Bowie State now has an excellent basketball player ( full scholarship) and it all started from a basketball program that was held at Gibbs. My 6 year old( Skylar Smith) jumps in my car after picking her up at kiss and ride, telling me how much she loves her school and teaches!

Wims is amazing! It is a great school community. The teachers and administration are what we wanted out of an elementary school. Even though the pandemic, communication has been great and our son loves going to school every day. He has some learning needs and the staff has been so supportive and skilled at working with him.

I highly recommend and endorse The Optimal Learning Center-Sally Ride. Our 4 years old son attended the school. His and our experience with the school was absolutely amazing. The management and teachers were very kind, accommodating, and very qualified. Our son flourished as a result of attending this school. His social, communication, and behaviors greatly improved. We appreciated the updates, videos, and pictures throughout the day. Additionally, the teachers and the director communicated openly with us regarding our son and addressed our questions and concerns. My biggest regret is that I didn’t know about Optimal Learning Center earlier so I could enroll my son sooner. I think this place is the area’s best kept secret in terms of childcare/school. I only wish that more childcare centers followed the same model and culture as The Optimal Learning Center.
