Four by Four

My experience with Catholic High of Baltimore has been extremely disappointing. My daughter has dealt with ongoing bullying, and instead of strong action from the school, the situation felt minimized and overlooked. She became so uncomfortable that she did not feel safe attending school or even riding the bus that we paid for. No mediation was done, and we did not receive a refund.The issue was not academics, but safety. Instead of addressing the bullying concerns, the focus was placed on peer tutoring and student responsibility. A child cannot focus on learning when she feels unsafe in her environment.Communication from the school has been poor, and serious concerns did not feel like they were handled with urgency. Academic support from faculty felt limited, with heavy reliance on peer-to-peer tutoring. While a few teachers seem to genuinely care, the overall experience was inconsistent.Parents are frequently asked for money throughout the year. Even student performances require high-priced tickets for a gala fundraiser, yet there are no field trips.Based on our experience, I would strongly encourage parents to ask detailed questions about safety, bullying policies, communication, and academic support before enrolling their child.
