Their curriculum is a year behind ILEARN. My student scored in the top 5% - 10% of the nation when he was on the public school curriculum. However upon attending HCS, last year he dropped below the average in the nation. The student said he had not learned what was on the ILEARN test. Honestly I blew the student off and thought to myself maybe it was because the student switched to HCS and didn't seem as interested. However, before the test this year he asked, "what if the test was like last year and didn't cover what was learned this year?" Student then proceeded to tell me that he learned this year what was on last years test and the student was concerned that it would happen again. Student tested ILEARN this year and there was nothing on the tests that was on the school curriculum for the year 2025/2026. My concern is that student will bomb SAT tests and I'm currently looking for other options regarding where he attends next year.
