My kid has always done great in school, despite having a disability. Now grades have dropped significantly, they have no tutoring programs to help struggling children. What they teach and how they teach it is completely different from when I was in school. I struggle to help when it is needed as it seems to create more confusion. When you ask teachers if they can help, they just tell you to have your kid get on their Chromebook at home and use prerecorded tutoring videos from whoever their virtual textbook providers are. Which is no where near the same as having an actual person to help them that they can ask questions to. This school may be okay for students who have no disabilities or learning delays. If you have a kid with a disability or learning delays, I would not recommend this school at all. You will struggle to get them to follow your child’s IEP as well. They will set up a meeting with you when your child starts there and try to come up with every reason they can as to why they need to remove certain things out of your child’s IEP, even though this IEP is what your child has been using since they started school and it has been successful. Just overall terrible. There are buses that come from Charlestown that will meet in Henryville so you can send your kid there instead if you can get a transfer approved. I believe Scottsburg does as well, but not positive. So that is the route I am going to be looking into.Parent Review2y agoThe GreatSchools Rating compares schools on a variety of school quality indicators including test scores, college readiness, equity and more.
