This school does well with test scores due to the pressure placed upon the students and the focus that the teachers put on passing the testing rather than on comprehensive learning. My youngest child experienced bullying beginning in second grade when the newest principal began. I immediately spoke up and advocated for him. I, in turn, experienced bullying from the administrators and parents. The last several years have been a nightmare at this school. My child has a diagnosis which should allow him modified learning accommodations, he has never received any assistance. I continued to keep my child enrolled here due to the magnet placement, and wanting him to be able to continue with middle school and high school placements outside of his assigned district school. I made many complaints regarding the nepotism in the classrooms and administration but the district only cares about the high test scores of this school. Anti-bullying is nothing more than a “spirit week” for FWCS. My complaints of bullying were ignored by the district just like my child’s needs were ignored by this school.
