It is very disappointing that French Academy is no longer the well respected school it once was. Each time I have been this school in recent years I have witnessed the hostile environment. Students believe they run the school and little action is taken to address the growing behavior problems and falling academic achievement. Students are not given the resources or instruction needed to achieve in not only elementary school, but in their future education and careers. Their new STEM approach is just a fancy label they are using to trick the community into thinking they are better than they are. French Academy does not have its students best interests at heart. It is sad to see a once praised elementary school in Decatur fall so far. If you want your child to receive a good education and attend school in a safe and inviting environment, do not send them to French.
