"It’s a clean and safe area since I was a kid in the 70s and 80s. The local Catholic grade school where I attended has closed but the neighborhood “rival” Catholic schools are still open. The public schools have also improved a lot since the late 90s and early 2000s, I think, due to return to practical policies. You’re surrounded by nice suburbs so if you have to live inside Chicago, OHare area is best bet. But if you want more urban feeling, it might be too suburban like. For little kids and back yards, it’s good. Then when they graduate from high school you can all move to yuppie gentrified areas. "

"There are a lot of dogs in the neighborhood and owners pick up after them. It’s a small neighborhood feel in a big city. "
