"Safe area. Quiet and not to much going on. Minutes from anything you want to do. Very close to transportation. A lot of parks around for walk dogs or kids to play in. Public pools around the area perfect for the summertime. Streets are regularly cleaned and alleys are not dirty like city alleys. The community really seems to work together to make it a nice clean safe area for anyone to live. There is a lot to do for adults as well. Downtown Jefferson park is alive with restaurants, bars and stores to visit. "

"The open space of the community that is a mix between Chicago and suburban has best of both worlds, there’s privacy, but also stores, schools, church’s, and other city cites all within walking distance. Everyone is pretty friendly, too "

My kids were very happy here in the and went on to attend Selective Enrollment high schools in the city. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you have a son or daughter and want to provide them with a school that has a small student to teacher ratio, excellent curriculum and after school programs, teachers that truly feel blessed in contributing to making your child a better, smarter human-being then OLV is the place for you. You get all of that backed up by a fantastic community and church.Parent Review11y ago37 Reviews - St Constance School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter came to St. Constance this school year after severe issues with bullying at a CPS school. The difference in her demeanor now is night and day. Instead of being bullied she is welcomed and encouraged to participate. All of the girls in her class are great friends and I've never seen anyone excluded. The kids are taught to be respectful and friendly to everyone. The curriculum is much more challenging but the graduates last school year have been accepted to great selective enrollment high schools so that speaks for itself. Overall, best choice we made. I just wish we made it sooner.Parent Review6y ago30 Reviews - St Cornelius Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am an alumnus of St. Cornelius as are my 3 siblings. We got an excellent education from a caring staff. Everyone I know who went here spells and speaks correctly. I loved the sense of community where generation after generation attended the same school. Even after 40 years, there continues to be a special bond among alumni on Facebook!Other Review15y ago1 Reviews - St. Robert Bellarmine School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school is situated in a quiet, pleasant neighborhood on the north side of Chicago. We were referred by friends and decided to give it a try. While the environment initially seemed promising, we found the 4th grade teacher to be ill-suited for an elementary classroom. In our experience, she lacked the temperament and sensitivity necessary for working with young students. Her teaching style was reminiscent of outdated disciplinary methods often associated with older Catholic school systems—overly harsh, rigid, and, at times, unkind. While modern Catholic schools now implement Virtus training to promote appropriate and respectful interactions with students, we felt this teacher operated outside those boundaries, occasionally crossing into behavior we considered inappropriate and potentially harmful.Ultimately, we made the difficult decision to withdraw from the school in search of an environment more aligned with contemporary educational values and respectful teaching practices.Other Review11mo ago19 Reviews
