4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you want your child to be bullied, nothing to happen to fix the issues, and attacked and injured by other students without any notification sent to you about these situations, then this is the school for you. Between the lack of communication, failure to take accountability for mistakes and total un professionalism of the staff this school wins the award for biggest failure of Desmoines. And no, over staffing is not an issue considering my child has a 5.6-1 student to teacher ratio. Oh and never speak up on issues your having, or your child will be the constant target and disliked by his teachers if you choose to be vocal and request changes being made. Example: not having said bully sitting directly next to your child. I wouldn’t recommend this school to my worst enemy, and if your child happens to have special needs or any sort of education plan, sorry they don’t provide the resources for that either. Expect constant phone calls to pick your student up, or plan on them spending the majority of the day in isolation.Parent Review6mo ago2 Reviews - Ankeny Christian Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a poorly run school. There is poor leadership by the head of school (who has no education administration experience), administrators and the school board. This is not a healthy school academically, spiritually or emotionally. Academics - High teacher turnover rates; teachers asked to write curriculum for classes and the majority of middle/highschool classes not being based from textbook with little administration oversight. My kids were not challenged academically here. Spiritually - this school is run very unBiblically. The school board is made up of all parents, the current board then picks the parents that can run for the board with all school board meetings being closed and school board minutes confidential. There is not a culture of mutual respect with the parents on the board, they have no accountability and there are a few families that have control of the school. Emotionally - administration is manipulative and deceitful, making it an emotionally unsafe place for children. Certain families are shown favoritism and their children will not be punished. They have increased tuition significantly since ESAs have passed. The school lacks a vision for growth and has become clique with families only able to get in if they get a recommendation from a family that leaderships approves of. The parking lot is a complete disaster especially during after school pickup, someone is going to be run or backed over. This past year the school board made a new policy that if you withdraw your students for the next academic school year after May 1st you will be charged $1,000 for each student you withdraw. Please look elsewhere for quality Christian education. This school has the ability to be good but bad leadership continues to pick back leadership and they are out of touch with the parents.Parent Review9mo ago9 Reviews
