8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kids have been going to this school for the past 4 years. Since I have 4, I have experience with them going through pre-k to 6th grade. Overall, we have had a good experience with adequate teacher communication and helpfulness. The staff stay with my kids until they are picked up. The staff even organized a meal-train for my family and offered extra support/counseling when our family was going through a rough time. We are a military family and like that our kids have friends who are in a similar position as them. This year, my kids have been able to have more field trips and more after-school activities are available such as art, language classes, hula, running club etc.Parent Review1mo ago19 Reviews - Kalihi Kai Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school’s website is always terribly outdated. They seldom use technology! The text books, if they have any, are many times old & outdated like 1980’s! Many teachers just wing it with wrk sheets or something they got off the internet like “teachers pay teachers” website! No parent involvement at all for years! Not surprising given- Administration just likes to use the latest educational jargon but not once will you hear “how does it effect student learning” bec they only care about forms & checking boxes regardless of whether it is actually happening or actually being effective! I honestly have never seen a worse educational system as this! The classrooms look like they’re fire hazards! It’s so bad you feel sorry for them but then you realize it’s easy to fix! It’s called learning & understanding the best educational practices, accountability and genuine caring about the students!!Parent Review8mo ago17 Reviews
