I can't believe this school get 5 star my daughter attended there she was a very good child .I noticed her behavior has changed completely she becomes very disrespected to us where is she get that ? There are some great people and Teacher there but ,not all. her teacher doesn't really care .I regret enrolled her there .

I could have written this half way through the school year but I wanted to wait until the end so I could honestly assess my son's Kindergarten experience. With that said, I am wholeheartedly a fan of Burruss! I brag about this school constantly to other parents/neighbors who are trying to find a quality public school in the area. A lot of people think that East Cobb schools are the "best" but I beg to differ. At Burruss, the diversity is unmatched (huge non-negotiable for our family), the teachers are awesome, the curriculum is top tier and the communication I received from the principal and his teachers throughout the year was excellent. Furthermore, my son is reading with ease, which was our #1 priority for him upon completing Kindergarten. We choiced him into this school, since the school we are zoned for unfortunately didn't even return my phone calls for a tour. I'm glad they didn't because we really lucked out in the long run! I have been following the progress of the Marietta City School district since I moved here in 2019. The superintendent is doing a marvelous job with all of the schools. The rankings for all of their schools have soared and they are truly the gold standard for literacy in the state! Highly recommended!

I cannot recommend West Side Elementary enough! We have had the best experience there since 2015 as my 4 children have attended and one is still there. It is a wonderful school with excellent teachers who are caring and well trained. The principal and leadership staff are dynamic and know each child by name and make them feel seen. The gifted program is so fun and there are multiple counselors who visit the classrooms monthly and can be seen by appointment. There are plenty of clubs and activities for children to take part in. As a parent there are also multiple ways to volunteer and get to know others at the school. On a public forum it is easy to complain but there is a reason why so many families want to move to be in this district. I feel very grateful for our time at West Side and can say that my children have had a fabulous preparation for middle and high school.

The school has punished my child for reporting a physical threat made by another child. This heavy handed level of enforcement to groom children not to report harm is unacceptable. Its poor decisoning by the very inexperienced Principal. We are filing legal action.

If your student is different from a hetero Caucasian wealthy,sorority or fraternity type of person this school socially would not be great for them.If your child requires any kind of accommodations,this is not your school.Academics are good and campus is safe teachers teach.They also will not motivate your child if they are different, however or minority.If your child is minority they will face many challenges unless they assimilate and are wealthy and well known.This is not a school that promotes diversity or inclusion of any disability.
