"No dog park areas close by. There is slot of loitering, vandalism, panhandling & drunken people starting drama. Stores are heavily secured but obviously not under control at all. "

"Not many sidewalks and several uncollared animals . no dog park or play area. other than that not bad "
  • Dar L
"Neighborhood is historic but now it's terrible. I grew up in this area, the schools were once some of the best in APS system now they're horrible. People drive through the stop sign in my neighborhood as if it's not there. They drive really fast up and down the street inconsiderate of the children playing. We hear random gun shots anytime of the day or night. My home was broken into about a year after we moved in. There also appears to be drug activity at a neighboring home."
  • Joyce B.

"I've been living in this neighborhood for only a year. I know three of my neighbors. I feel safe here. I have seen a owl. very large. it's full of sounds of animals in the night. bats , owls, late night creatures. it's like living in a forest. "
  • N N.
"It is historic! The largest and oldest neighborhood that was established, built, owned and lived in by black people. None of the homes were built alike. They are all originally and uniquely designed. Most of the houses are built on a reasonable size lot that are not too close to the adjacent home as well as not too far to create beautiful neighborhoods."
  • N N.
"Dog owners live in the neighborhood. They have to walk their dogs on the street because we do not have sidewalks. Most dog owners walk them during the least hours of most traffic. The main streets have sidewalks."
  • N N.
"Most people, passer-byers, respect the neighborhood by not throwing trash out the window. It is quiet and not crowded. There are different ins and outs for a variety to access and go in different directions to avoid traffic that is on the main thoroughfare."
  • N N.
"This is basically a safe area to raise children. Most neighbors watch for children while driving through and come to their aid when in distress."
  • Andrea M.

  • Michael T.
"I can't say; I don't have a dog. However, I know a couple of families who have dogs and it is quite welcoming."
