We are new to Greene and are so impressed with this incredible community and beyond grateful to be part of it. When approaching this next chapter, my husband and I wanted a place that felt expansive and exciting to be every day. In addition to all of the standard curriculum (Literary Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies) my son gets to explore things like Spanish and Mandarin, Writing Class, PE and Yoga, Chess, Drama, Music, and Art. Each of these enrichments is given substantial value in his day and is its own class, not plugged into just one art block. His afternoon is full of these enrichments and time to play. It creates a learning environment which gives him joy and which he is excited to attend each day. He has jumped in the car every day relaying everything he did in all of his classes, when previously I was lucky to get a "good" or "I don't remember." Now this vibrant young guy is running around our home proud to be a Dolphin and curious about all the new things he is exploring at Greene. I am struck by the tremendous kindness and passion each teacher and staff member brings to this school. We do not take lightly how much of his time is spent in this environment and navigating the transition to kindergarten, it felt crucial he spend this time in a place that opened his world around learning and felt full of joy. This is absolutely Greene. Everyone is genuinely happy to be there and shows so much love to all of the kids. It's personal and each child is seen and celebrated for who they are. Children are able to work at their level with an individualized attention to their studies. For a child who may be more advanced this allows them to pace ahead so they never feel bored by the curriculum because they are always challenged and met where they are. Our hearts are full and we could not be more proud that he gets to be part of this wonderful community.
