5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI currently have two children enrolled at this school and have two totally different experiences here. One of the teacher's is amazing. I have been able to connect with her whenever I need to and she keeps me in the loop with everything going on. The other teacher is very standoffish and always seems like it's an inconvenience to talk. Unfortunately for me, the standoffish teacher currently has the child I'm more concerned about (there are some behaviors that I'm trying to curb before they become a issue). My overall perception of the school is it is a good school with room for improvement. The principal and vice principal are kind and easy to talk to. The front office staff is wonderful and always eager to help. The security of the school could be better (students are able to wander around undetected before the first bell rings). Both children have maintained honor status throughout the school year and they are meeting (and in some areas exceeding) the state standards for their grade levels.I honestly wish my husband and I had the financial ability to send our children to a private school, however, I am satisfied with the children attending Astoria Park.Parent Review10y ago5 Reviews - Springwood Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThey're were a few really good teachers there like Mrs. Wilkerson, Ms. Lindsey and a few others. The office staff was good, but other then that I have nothing good to say.Parent Review5y ago13 Reviews - Canopy Oaks Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son attends this school and I couldn't be any more happier with the principal and staff. She is attentive and proactive when it comes to the students, I see the students go up to her and hug her all of the time. My son's very first day here in 3rd grade he experienced a bully situation, that day I contacted the principal and teacher for their awareness and they immediately responded and helped. I haven't had that type of issue since. For the past 3 years each of his teachers have gone above and beyond and are always willing to help. I feel like my son feels safe with the security at the school. It is in a quiet and safe neighborhood with minimal traffic. There is a lot of open communication between the staff and parents/guardians. Although there is always room for more and better communication, there will never be enough of this since it is key to our children's success. My only concern is with some of the before and after care staff since they are generally college students, needing extra training in regards of talking with the students; some of them try to be too friendly with kids and are a little immature when it comes time in managing behavioral accommodations.Parent Review2y ago12 Reviews - Gingerbread Christian Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCLC is a great school for kids who are independently learners and have no behavioral or academic differences.During first grade, I advocated constantly for my child who has behind in reading. I got many (seemingly) genuine offers of support from CLC but ultimately, they didn’t actually do anything. Further, the first grade teacher gaslit me and said my “expectations” were the issue, not my child’s learning.Well, a formal assessment over summer yielded results that my child had learning challenges and was reading at an early K level at the end of first grade.Fortunately, we would a school that could support her right before 2nd grade. When I notified CLC, of this opportunity, they charged me $1700 to unenroll my child. After failing my child and apologizing for doing so.This school espouses great values that aligned with my family’s values, but the director sees herself as the exception to these. So, if your kid is neurotypical and you’re looking for a great alternative learning environment — go for it! It’s a great community. If you have a child that needs extra support, stay far away. They have no intention of supporting your kid in those ways. For the record, at the end of 2nd grade, in a school that values her and supports her education, she is now scoring at the top of her class for reading.Parent Review3w ago11 Reviews - Heritage Academy
