I was very disappointed in the level of education as well as the caring manner in which this school treated my partically deaf child. If you have a child that has learning disabilities and/or accommodations, my recommendation is to avoid this school. Administration will tell you that they will provide, to a degree, the defined accommodations but the administrators and teachers lack knowledge and capabilities to provide them appropriately. A partially deaf child's needs were not understood or accepted. In addition, an algebra teacher, that is certified for elementary school instruction not high school instruction, did not lecture to the students except when administration was observing. Most of the teachers have good intentions but a few are unprepared to provide the education needed for their assigned classes. In the general classes (not honors or AP), the teachers commonly load the students with homework and much of it never appeared on the assessments. I met with the principal a few times and her conduct in the parent-teacher conferences was insensitive, cold and uncooperative. At the end of my child's period at this school, the child was emotionally and physically exhausted. My child's confidence and self-worth was extremely low. We switched schools and my child is doing very well and is happy to be out of this school. And, my child's future is bright again.Parent Review4y agoThe GreatSchools Rating compares schools on a variety of school quality indicators including test scores, college readiness, equity and more.
