"I've lived in the Palmetto Park neighborhood since March, 2007 and it's gotten nicer each year. It's an overall quiet neighborhood with a lot of friendly neighbors. There is a renewed business interest in the surrounding area so now there are more shopping/dining/entertainment options within walking distance (only 2 blocks away from the Central Ave shopping district). Because of it's central location and quick access to I-275 (2-3 minutes- north or south bound) you can get from the Palmetto Park neighborhood to anywhere in the main Tampa Bay area in about 30 minutes (or much less). Here are some estimated drive times from this neighborhood to some of the hot spots in the Bay Area: * Downtown St. Pete- 3-5 minutes * Jim & Heather Gills YMCA- 2-3 minutes * Tyrone area (Mall)- 10-12 minutes * Treasure Island/St. Pete Beach- 13-15 minutes * Ellenton Outlet Mall- 25-30 minutes * International or Westshore Mall (S. Tampa)- 20-25 minutes * Parkside Mall/Shopping/Movies- 10-12 minutes * Saint Petersburg College (Main Gibbs Campus)- 8-10 minutes * Eckerd College- 7-8 minutes * Fort De Soto Park/Beach- 20 minutes * Ybor City- 25-30 minutes * Tampa Bay Times Forum- 28-30 minutes * Seminole Hard Rock Casino- 30-35 minutes"
