Amelia City

My son attended Amelia Island Montessori School for 6 years. Our experience was very positive. The class size is small so the kids actually have a relationship with each other and the teachers. There is not much staff turnover. My child really did develop a love for learning. The staff is caring and supportive. They are involved in the community. Everyone knows everyone type of environment. It is a safe school tucked away in a safe spot. My son always tested several years ahead of his grade. I like that Montessori does a three grade./year block at a time. That way, the kids are always learning at their own pace. If a kid is a little behind, it’s okay. If a kid is ahead, it’s okay. The children are to help each other. For example, the third graders help the first graders if they need it. I also love the open classroom environment. I never enjoyed sitting at a desk in one spot all day and didn’t want that for my child. I worked recommend this school to anyone. I will say it’s much easier to stay in a Montessori and stay in a Montessori. It may be a difficult transition coming from a traditional school setting.
