My oldest child has serious mental health and behavioral concerns. When he was in 1st grade he threatened other kids in the cafeteria saying he was going to "pull the fire alarm and kill his teacher and burn down the school". Not only did they not report this incident, they covered it up! I had to call 211 to get it documented myself and they did not punish my child, or even have the guidance counselor talk to him. They also did not bother to put this in his records and blamed this on him being "off of his meds" when in fact he was on MORE medication but was having it administered at home instead since they started lying and saying his behavior was improved when he started taking them at schoolEven though this was not the case. This is NOT the district for you if your child has behavioral concerns or mental health issues

Went to this school in 2014, the building was really gross and I felt that many of the teachers didn't really effectively support their students. The special ed staff was also not great. Not to mention if you didn't have money for lunch they would give you two pieces of bread and a slice of slimy cheese. This school lacks decent funding and it really shows in the building's conditions and staff help. I remember there was a bad bullying problem as well. Neither victim nor bully got adequate support to stop and heal from the behavior. The counselors weren't great and many of them either couldn't support the students or outright bullied them. Also, it's way worse in terms of education and cleanliness than farm hill school despite being so close. My only thought is that farm hill caters to a more wealthy and white community than Bielefield. Looking back on it a lot of the school was not great towards PoC students and families. The previous principal was horrible, but maybe the new principal is better. Still, this school gave me a lot of trauma so I cannot say I recommend it.

My daughter used to attend this school as a preschooler. We had a horrible experience with the school nurse on many occasions. Stalking us about a second flu vaccine while our daughter did not need it at the end.Then asking us to refrain from bringing my daughter to school because she didn't receive a physical on time, we were not informed about a deadline, I received an email from her stating that I can’t bring my daughter to school after x date. Even though we tried our best to provide the document, but the doctor's office's failure to finish the paperwork is beyond our control (it takes 7 days). When we expressed our dislike about it, she was extremely rude. I had to remove my daughter from school and voiced my complaints to her supervisor, school staff and the Middletown Board of Education, but no action was taken. Very frustrating experience. I don’t recommend it.

This is such a really great school!
