The Waldorf education method places a huge value on protecting and embracing childhood. My daughter spent her years in preschool and kindergarten engaged in imaginative free play, working on social skills, developing gross and fine motor skills, and celebrating the seasons of the year while her peers at the public school had hours of homework and little to no recess or outside time. Now that she is in the grades, she is encouraged to use her imagination, creativity, and curiosity about the world to guide her academic learning. School feels fun and engaging and she truly loves to learn!WSRF puts a high value on community and involving parents to whatever degree they are able. This includes volunteering their time in and out of the classroom, attending plays, festivals, and assemblies and engaging in parent education. Parents also are able to engage with each other to help the children through tough stages and make agreements around things that affect the social health of the class.
