"The fact that it’s in Ventura. There’s a good vibe in this area and always at the beach. There are lots of thrift stores and restaurants. There’s a theater. Ventura is special."

"There are many places to take your dog for walks like parks (including Dog Parks), trials, the beach and local mountains. People in the neighborhood are, for the most part, have dogs themselves. Neighborhood seems extremely safe for animals. Yay!"

"A nice family neighborhood with 3 small but well appointed parks in this community. Very friendly neighbors in the area and all homes are well maintained, looking new and cherished by their owners!"

"I commute to Los Angeles for work. So the commute is quite long from Ventura. Typically an hour and a half minimum."

"It is hard to walk my dogs in our neighborhood because of all the barking protective yard dogs, but I can go to the very close trail and walk them instead."

"I’m in an oasis, tucked behind the not so desirable part of the Ave. The weather is great here as the fog hardly ever makes it to this area, and burns off early if it does make it. It’s peaceful and quiet."

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average4 Stars, however since Sheridan adopted the name (Academy of International Language Study) they post this phraseology on every bit of paper and communication they can. The amount of irrelevant communications they bombard parents in texts and emails is very annoying. This new “Duel Immersion” emphasis on is holding our kids back. Children that elect to learn Spanish, Mandarin or any other foreign language should be able to decided that later in their scholastic career. Forcing kids to learn foreign languages before they have developed their own native tounge is counter productive and causing inevitable delays in reading writing, phonological, lexical, and grammatical systems. You would be shocked how much time is dominated and dedicated to learning foreign language. These very young minds could be absorbing so many more productive subjects instead. We continue to see a downward trajectory of scholastic scores and testing (especially in Eng. Literacy) over the last few decades here in VCSD. Also, as the same with any review sites It’s of course up to us as parents to filter though the reviews that sound like a biased administrator wrote them.Parent Review3y ago4 Reviews - Ventura Charter School Of Arts And Global Education

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent, I am very disappointed with this school. Over the past two years my daughter has experienced repeated racist behavior, and it has been very concerning to see that this type of conduct seems to be tolerated rather than seriously addressed. My daughter is not the only child who has experienced racism here, which makes the situation even more troubling. It is also very telling that Google reviews appear to be disabled, which raises questions about transparency. In my opinion, the principal does not show the leadership needed to manage a multicultural school or to uphold the values the school claims to promote. Families are asked to make donations, yet the school appears very poor in many aspects. This school has potential, but until racism is taken seriously and stronger leadership is in place, I cannot recommend it.Parent Review2mo ago13 Reviews - Ventura Christian Academy
