This is a life changing educational environment for young children. Both my children have thrived socially, emotionally and educationally at Montessori one. The teachers and staff are exceptional, the campus is beautiful, it provides a nurturing and loving learning environment. Montessori pedagogy is child led and creates a life long love of learning and encourages a strong sense of self and confidence in abilities. This school is a gift.

Choosing Carden Conejo has been one of the best decisions we’ve made for our family. As parents, there is nothing more important than knowing your children are safe, happy, and genuinely loved while they’re away from home, and that’s exactly how we have felt every single day for the past 5 years at Carden. The teachers and staff are so much more than educators—they’ve become like family to us. They truly know and care about each child, creating a nurturing environment where children feel valued, supported, and encouraged to grow.Our children wake up excited to go to school each morning, and that speaks volumes. They come home happy, confident, and eager to share what they’ve learned. We love that Carden Conejo emphasizes traditional values, strong morals, respect, kindness, and a classical education that challenges students academically while helping them become thoughtful, compassionate people.

While the school strongly positions itself as a caring and supportive community that values every child, the reality is quite the opposite. Behind the polished facade lies a highly bureaucratic system that does not care about individual student needs.Academically, the school falls short of standard expectations. A major concern is the hiring of teaching staff who lack basic California teaching credentials. While California law technically permits private schools to hire non-credentialed teachers, any private school that genuinely values its reputation and academic standards makes having fully credentialed educators a strict, non-negotiable requirement. Sadly, Ascension does not fall into this category of reputable schools.If you are looking for a school that truly understands, supports, and partners with families to help children thrive, you will not find it here. It feels more like a business focused on its own administrative processes rather than the well-being and education of the students.
