6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’m glad my kids had a great experience with this school and all it’s teachers. One from 2000 to 2003 the next 1998 to 2005 another from 2000 to 2008 the next from 2007 to 2015 and the last from 2010 and still attending. Pre-k offered at this school as well. My kids have been good students with great teachers at this school. I like being involved with my kids education and learning objectives and standards are raised every year and programs are in place for those students that need the extra help. This school also lets and invites parents to be active in any and all ways. The friendly and helpful staff makes it a great environment for kids to feel good and safe about going to school. Most teachers implement values and manners as simple as saying good morning every day as they walk in the classroom. All students are respectful to adults and have never experienced anything negative at this school.Other Review8y ago2 Reviews - Olive Street Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended Vandalia when I was a little girl (I'm now 62 years old!) and it is wonderful to see how it has endured through the years. We lived across the street and I would walk home for lunch every day. I have great memories of those years - much luck for your continued success! 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son attended Santa Fe from 3rd thru 6th (he is now in 8th grade) and my daughter has attended since kindergarten, when the school 1st opened. Both my kids love this school, I have nothing but good things to say about the teachers and all staff. The principal (Mr. Valdez) is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet, always motivating his students to do their best, and read, read, read. I think he's one of the main reasons this school's students scored the highest of all the city's elementary schools in state testing, despite being new and being located in what some feel is a "poor" part of town.Parent Review15y ago1 Reviews - Alta Vista Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended this school from preschool to 8th grade it's really just like one big family. I grew up with most of the students I attend high school with now, the students that attended seem to have a special bond with one another whether or not they were close or even spoke to each other. We all have a different respect and attitude towards things that other students from different schools don't normally have. The teachers at Alta Vista are great they put a lot of time and effort into their students especially one I know who has been struggling for a while. They are a small school and may not have much money to fund things but they work not for themselves but for their students, to watch them grow and flourish and become something nobody says they can become because they go to a poor school on the East side of Porterville. What they lack gets made with the quality of loving teachers and students who are always there for one another, they help pull each other, and even the teachers up especially in hard times because they care; which is a big quality all A.V.S. kids have even when they are juniors and seniors in high school.Other Review10y ago6 Reviews - St. Anne
