"There are dog lovers and dog at most homes in the Oceanside community. Most dog owners are responsible for their animals as well."

"The commute can be a little busy on the 76 at times which is expected and manageable. Other than that I would say the commute is fairly easy. "

"I drive to La Jolla for work 4 times a week. It is not a good commute. Much of Oceanside is a commuting town as it is mostly residential."

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMission Meadows Elementary School has unfortunately declined in quality since the change in leadership from Dr. Porter to the current principal, Mr. Peel. Under Dr. Porter, the school was a much better place for students to learn and grow.Since Mr. Peel took over, the environment has become subpar. The school is plagued by rampant bullying, which goes largely unchecked by the administration. This creates an unsafe and uncomfortable atmosphere for many students. The administrators at Mission Meadows seem to lack genuine care for the students. Their focus appears to be elsewhere, resulting in a neglect of important issues and a decline in the overall quality of education and student well-being.I would not recommend Mission Meadows Elementary School to any parent who values a safe, nurturing, and effective learning environment for their child.Parent Review1y ago24 Reviews - Alamosa Park Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs we walk to and from school with so many other families, play at the park after school with friends, or grab an ice cream cone from the ice cream truck, I’m often reminded that Alamosa Park Elementary School is truly something special. All three of my children have been blessed with incredible teachers who have cared deeply for them and invested time and attention in the areas where they needed to grow. The school also has an outstanding foundation and PTA who work tirelessly to create meaningful assemblies, events, and field trips for the kids, while continually supporting teachers and classrooms. The families are wonderful as well, and our kids have made lasting friendships. These years will always hold a special place in our hearts and will be remembered fondly. If you’re new to the neighborhood or looking for an exceptional elementary school, we could not recommend Alamosa Park enough.Parent Review6mo ago9 Reviews - Empresa Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur experience at this school has been incredibly disappointing. My child was in the first grade here, and the classroom environment was completely lacking. The teacher was unengaged, relied on outdated curriculum, and showed very little genuine care for the students' well-being. As a result, my child was constantly bored in class and, worse, subjected to bullying out on the playground.During one severe incident, my child was pushed down a playground slide and sustained multiple scratches and bruises. Shockingly, the school failed to notify us when it happened. Instead, we received a casual call at the very end of the day saying, "Oh, by the way, there was an incident earlier."Because the bullying went unaddressed, we ultimately told our child to stand up and defend themselves. When they finally did, the administration suddenly found the ability to call us immediately to complain that our child hit someone. The double standard and lack of proactive communication are unacceptable.Principal Kim Hollowell is completely performative. While she puts on a friendly facade for parents, our child frequently witnessed her yelling at other students when she thought no one was watching. We approached her multiple times regarding the bullying, even presenting video evidence of other children targeting our child. She was entirely dismissive, stating they were "aware of everything." If the administration is so aware, why is nothing being done to protect the students? We have officially pulled our child out of this school and are enrolling them in Alamosa Elementary, where the staff actually genuinely care about the safety and education of the children. Avoid this school if you value your child's well-being.Parent Review1mo ago22 Reviews - Faithful Christian Academy
