"It’s nice to be a mile from the beach and part of Carlsbad village. Unfortunately the roads are very busy by where I live and big intersections keep you from having a quite peaceful walk."

"Carlsbad village is not very walking friendly when you want to take a relaxing quiet stroll. The plus side is the beaches are nice and it’s beautiful ."

"Lots of kids around, but you wouldn’t know. There quiet and well behaved. There are no buses so you must drive kids to school or let them walk/bike to school."

"I love older carlsbad I owned a home here for 20 plus years and lived here 36 years. my kids graduated high school here and my husband spent his whole life here. carlsbad has a old beach charm with strong community connections. there is also a large church going community as well. "

"My commute is simple straight down el Camino or I can jump on the 5 depending on the time of day and not hit traffic "

"Perfect location because it’s so central to orange and SD airports. Easy access to the 76, overbuilt and not enough infrastructure to support it"

"I’ve lived in Carlsbad for 5 years and I love the area, the people and the culture. It’s very expensive to buy and rent but the scenery is absolutely beautiful and the shops, beaches, and dining is great too."

"Retired so only occasional drives to SD on freeway. Have used rail to go up to LA and down to SD. Parking downtown Carlsbad is HORRIBLE. Keeps us from venturing down there. Parking needs to be fixed ASAP."

"Hopefully as a dog owner, respecting to not have your animals going on other neighbors property. However there are often times it can’t be helped, so always pick up your dogs deposits. There are a lot of people who walk their dogs and it is a very pet friendly area. "

"I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 30 years the schools are amazing the people are even better I love this neighborhood the weather is perfect the beaches are great. The only thing that leaves to be desired is public office. Same with the police department there on the good old boy schedule so if you don’t know anybody you won’t get hired. Just let you know not that I’m looking for a job with them."

"Olde Carlsbad is one of the best coastal SoCal neighborhoods, especially for families! Mixes the Olde & the new very well with coastal weather/breezes, urban diversity/density, bike/walk/transit friendly with great suburban schools, safety & family friendly amenities. Best of both worlds quietly tucked between SD to the south, with OC & LA to the north."

"Pickleball at St Michaels Episcopal church where the spirit of a community and inclusion make every game a treat. There are good players at every level and the paddle wheel makes it easy to work in the flow of games. If you like making friends, stick around for an evening bbq with a great group of people. The Carlsbad Music Festival centers at St Michaels and brings many music lovers into the center of the community. They also sponsor a Wine Festival in October that seems like a special occasion."

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school and the program have undergone a lot of major renovations in the last year. At first I was skeptical, but now I'd say all the changes have been for the best. The building is where the biggest changes have been made, but the new administrative staff is a lot better at communicating. We were thinking of pulling our son out because of the distance, but now we're recommending it to our friends. You wont find a better school for academics in the area.Parent Review12y ago6 Reviews - LePort Montessori Carlsbad Village

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMost of the reviews reflect the previous owner/school, called Montessori Arts and Sciences--I believe it became Leport School in late 2014. I wish my daughter could go here, but it's too far for us. Le Port and its new staff provide a warm and welcoming and vibrant space. The new director was thoughtful, not pushy, and seemed to really connect with the kids based on the several times we came to visit. The location and small campus are fantastic. It's such a charming space (the music room is delightful)! They seem to really understand individualized curriculum at the new LePort, and how to follow the child in terms of maximizing educational moments. Awesome place!Parent Review11y ago9 Reviews - Carlsbad Christian Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kid were both bullied at this school mentality and physically. Teachers and staff don’t care and just pretend it didn’t happen. The school is not accredited nor are the teachers and staff. All the students are behind in all subjects. I really don’t understand how this school is still open, or how it is legally open. They kicked my daughter out of the school within 1 day notice because of bullying and discrimination ..My daughter had been suffering from alot of health issues because unfair treatment.Parent Review11mo ago26 Reviews - LEPORT SCHOOL - CARLSBAD VILLAGE
