She doesn't assist the students and assigns challenging computer Math questions without adequate explanation. It feels like she's just pushing the responsibility onto the students. Some teachers assume the material is obvious to everyone, but as a math teacher, she should explain things better and not just be in it for the money. Then the school replaces with subs who also don't explain the best; they lack in this area.Over the years, people have left because the math instruction is inadequate. When students move on to high school, they are unprepared because she confuses them more by assigning computer-based questions instead of thoroughly going over the material. It's especially concerning because she teaches 7th and 8th grade. The superintendent needs to address this issue, or the school's numbers will continue to decline. Hire a better math teacher, or consider transferring your child to another school. I hope this trend stops and the school gets a new math teacher someone who explains thoroughly and does not assume these kids get it! Also, for elective subjects in middle school choose another teacher, not the same teacher. Unfortunately, a lot of the great middle school teachers have retired or are retiring.Disappointed for middle school/Junior highParent Review1y ago12 Reviews - Camarillo Academy of Progressive Education

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was utterly unimpressed with the TK program. Parents sympathized with teachers during covid knowing they had to pivot and go outside their comfort zones however there was hardly any communication, which should of been a top priority with students working from home. We were told they would need to do 2 hours of work solo at home however 90% of the time nothing was sent or established. I know myself and multiple parents asked about this and the teacher just kept saying how busy she was and couldn’t get to it. I know for a fact the curriculum was created and printed elsewhere so I’m not sure what she was busy with, especially since she wasn’t emailing parents or grading material. Her teacher didn’t utilize any of the online programs (that she had to setup) and was not supported at all by the administration to get trained to do so. My daughter wasn’t challenged and was on an iPad learning GoNoodle dances during precious in person time. She excelled in reading but during reading groups was excluded, which is fine for the teacher to focus on other struggling students, but she was never given additional reading instruction. I’m thankful we only had this teacher for TK and this wasn’t her Kindergarten yearParent Review4y ago16 Reviews - Phoenix School
