Highly disappointed in this HS. We had taken a chance and moved our child to this school hoping for a higher educational experience. I will say there are some nice elective options and a good variety for a school of this size. However, they let students change their own schedules for roughly two weeks after school has started without notifying the parents at all. I’m sorry, but a child usually does not know what they need to be taking to reach the goals they have and often just switch classes to be with friends. And if you think about it, how much learning can be done during that time with kids just switching around for two weeks? And good luck trying to contact a counselor about this. There is also a lot of downtime and it leaves a parent wondering what is my child really doing all day. In addition, even if your student doesn’t take a quiz/test they will receive a 40%. In our opinion, that does not encourage a child who is a high achiever. It’s just like getting participation points for showing up. This isn’t a huge one, but don’t count on there being a school nurse or nurses office. However, what you can count on is at least one teacher constantly making her political views known often by whispering under her breath. This makes our child frustrated and uncomfortable. And is definitely not the sentiment of the majority of the class.
