My daughter attends Athens elementary school for speech. Her speech pathologist is Mrs Lewis she is wonderful, and all of the staff are welcoming! We really enjoy Athens elementary school.

TERRIBLE school. I’ve never been so horrified in my life! Both my children were bullied non stop and I brought it to the school’s attention numerous times and NOTHING was done. I even went up to have a meeting with the principals and teacher and nothing changed! One teacher put their hand on my child’s head and pushed down making him uncomfortable. They do not verify who your children leave with. EVER. When I asked what they planned to do to correct this issue they literally said there was nothing they would change. During drop off in the mornings, the coach will yell at the children, slam your car doors and called a child a loser during PE bringing him to tears. My children never brought home any homework and their academics are extremely lacking. Do not trust that this school has your children’s best interest at heart.

Julian Newman is the most supportive elementary school that I have seen. I have sent 3 of my 4 children through and they were excellent with all of them.

Teachers in Grades K and 1 do not appear to have any training or tolerance in handing or teaching special needs children. Their answer to any issues that arise is paddling the child or suspending the child. Lack of interest from administrators is evident in the attitude of teachers. I would not recommend sending any child with special needs to this school.

As a parent, I’m so grateful for Lindsay Lane Christian Academy. The teachers truly care about my kids and help them grow both academically and spiritually. The Christian values they learn every day are a huge blessing for our family. The events and sports help them build great friendships. I highly recommend it to any family looking for a loving, faith-based school!
