8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended the superintendent program from 2016-2019. The reviews are accurate and resonate with my experience. The environment is not suitable for students and many of the teachers do not care for their students. It is not a good environment for growth and many of the people, including staff are not amazing whatsoever.Other Review11mo ago24 Reviews - Ps 264 Bay Ridge Elementary School For The Arts

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSince they blocked google reviews, it’s time to post here.I’m not sure where to begin with this school. We were accepted into the school as a first choice. It is NOT our zoned school and I was pretty far but from word of mouth, we decided to go with it. So many people raved about the art programs and the teachers. They were right about that but everything else was terrible. We stayed in the school for a whole school year plus one month before both kids were transferred. My 6 yr old attended Kindergarten and one month first grade and my 5 year old started at 264 for one month of kindergarten. My now first grader did not know how to read and at her new school they had to “reset” her to level A. Ps 264 heavily pushes iready for homework. The results were terrible and my daughter wouldn’t learn because she figured she could guess the answers. The teachers she had were great and patient but communication fell short. The school cares more about what the PTA does rather than give the teachers the actual resources to teach the kids. THE SCHOOL IS NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. They do not hold parent engagements or in class learning days where the teachers show the parents how they teach students. Be prepared to have a tshirt in every color and $ for the weekly snack sale. The principal is downright rude and cold. If you aren’t part of the pta, throwing money at the school, or part of a mom click, don’t expect kindness. She wanted to get rid of early drop off because of “safety”. At drop off, they will close the gate in your face, make you walk around the block, and wait on line outside in the cold/heat to sign your child into school as late. It doesn’t make sense. I once waited outside for close to 25 minutes, making me late for work. They have no problem opening the gate late at pick up either. It’s quite frustrating if you have to run to another school afterwards. They do not allow you to converse with the teachers after school l, even if there was a problem during the school day. We have had small problems with “bullying”and sometimes actions wouldn’t be taken. I feel like with such a diverse school, the principal should be better at showing kindness. Honestly, when my daughters attended that school I wish the assistant principal would be the principal. She is the sweetest most kind hearted lady. My daughter loved her.Avoid this school if you want your child to actually learn something.Parent Review11mo ago13 Reviews - Check out schools near Withheld Withheld Rd #2.
