"My commute is easier because it’s right by the freeway but it can get congested because it’s close to a busy mall"
    • Trulia User
"There are some areas that are not well lit at night and speeding cars becareful other than that it is a wonderful place to live"
    • Trulia User
"my commute is fine because i live right next to the freeway so i have instant access to wherever i’m going….i still get caught in traffic at times during the week between the 805 and 125 but it really is all about finding the right timing "
    • Ryan T.
"We have Bonita fest every October. It’s like a little community festival held at Bonita high school celebrating the history of Bonita. "
    • John S.
"lots of dog walkers. In Bonita there is a park, Rohr Park with a great dog park included. Three mile loop around the park too."
    • Jcwheel76
"Easy to freeways. Rough traffic out of South Bay in the morning. Commute can be tough going to and coming from downtown and north. "
    • Nalani C.
"Long way to the freeway. Takes 45 minutes to 1.5 hours to Point Loma in rush hour traffic. 125 freeway is worth it."
    • Tsifuentes1976
"very quiet neighborhood...great place to retire due to the golf course that is practically in your back yard. "
    • Suellengillot
"It’s a horse neighborhood with big lots. Nice homes and great schools I have lived here for 40 years. Most people stay for many years. Definitely not transient "
    • Mariana
"Local church makes fun events for families, like jumpers, petting zoo, laser tag, food, summer movie nights, etc"

    • Tsifuentes1976
"Bonita is a retirement community! If your visiting, there's a golf course, park, and trails to walk or jog. "
    • Wilkinsclaudette
"Quiet and feels removed from city, everyday life seems to move slower. Don’t worry about neighbors being too loud."
    • S b.

    • Kikacardenas11
"Rohr Park has events and it’s fun also we have the club La Luz which is super great place and I live the safety here "
    • Bomanpatti
"It’s quiet, we see horses going by on the streets, we are close to two golf courses and lake and parks as well as close to freeways. "
    • Stephanie
"This area has an excellent mall/movie theater very close by. The community is clean and safe and very beautiful. The wildlife area and golf course are a big plus. There aren't alot of parks nearby - just 1. There are plenty of hills to run up and down. Homes are beautiful in this area. Traffic is easy going. Takes just a few minutes to drive to work. If you have the money to live here, do!"
    • Rick
"I've lived in bonita 2yrs. I have never felt attached to the community the way I do here. There is a small town feel here , when I go to the store the clerk remembers me, I also frequently run into my kids school teachers and classmates and thier families. There are good restaurants, stores and an excellent library close to downtown but semi-rural feel. Just a great blend."
    • Kkoenig
"We love living here. It is a small sheltered community in the big city. Has the rural feel while being 13 miles from Downtown and Mission Valley. Tons of walking and bike trails. We can ride horses, play golf, search for turtles in the creek, feed the ducks, go fishing at morrison pond, go on hikes, use the great library and nice park facilities all within easy walking distance of our home.
