Below grade level and inconsistent, incoherent instruction being taught. Little focus on making sure students are learning. A lot of down time and A LOT oF COLORING SHEET - A WHOLE LOT- my children dislike coloring because that is what they have done at school all day from pre-k to grade 4. Lack of opportunities and support and I had really high hopes for the new district leadership, but ALL SMOKE AND MIRRORS. Becket students continue to get a poor education. Needs are not met and there is zero accountability. Did you see the AWFUL MCAS scores this year? Kids cannot read at a basic level, nor can they do very basic computation when they leave BWS unless you get them a tutor or do it yourself.

I went to this school back in 2025 and let me start by saying it's not all bad, but from my personal experience I confided multiple times in a guidance counselor who then proceeded to call my family after a written out plan to not speak to them about personal them into promoting the cops to show up at my school, this caused many problems not only within me and the staff but also my friends, after the occurrence I was bullied and multiple phone calls were received from my family to the school complaining about such bullying which they stated "would be handled" which it was unfortunately was never handled.

While it is a bit tedious for very good or excellent students, the school still does a decent job.
