5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe situation at Marshall High School reflects significant challenges that hinder both student motivation and overall educational effectiveness. While there is potential for the school to thrive, systemic issues within the administration, faculty, and teaching methodologies have created an environment that is less than conducive to student success. Administrators often exhibit disrespectful behavior towards students, fostering an atmosphere of intimidation rather than support. This disregard for professional etiquette diminishes the respect and trust that are essential for a positive educational environment. There is a troubling tendency for both teachers and administrators to provide inconsistent information. For instance, a teacher may grant one student permission for a specific activity while denying another under similar circumstances. This inconsistency not only undermines student trust but also creates confusion and frustration. The administrative team appears to struggle with organization and communication. Frequent miscommunication and unclear policies contribute to an environment where students feel unsupported and undervalued. This lack of clarity can lead to increased anxiety and disengagement among students. The absence of effective social-emotional support mechanisms exacerbates the challenges faced by students. Rather than feeling encouraged and understood, many students report feelings of dread associated with school, stemming from administrative pressures, excessive workloads, and a pervasive sense of inadequacy.A lack of encouragement and acknowledgment from administration can lead to diminished enthusiasm for learning. When students feel that their efforts are unrecognized, their motivation to engage in academic activities wanes. The challenges at Marshall High School are deeply intertwined with the administrative approach and its impact on student well-being. Addressing these issues through respect, accountability, and emotional support is essential for creating a more positive and motivating educational experience. Reforming the current environment will better enable students to thrive academically and personally.Other Review3w ago7 Reviews - Boone Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSevere bullying involving my first grade child with disabilities getting hit, kicked, and punched by another student. Another incident regarding children telling my child they wish to end his life, and “he’s next”, but administration does nothing because it’s “student conflict”, “they can’t understand him” and “they haven’t heard any reports/seen anything”. You haven’t heard any reports?? IM MAKING A REPORT! This isn’t even the first time a student has wished to K!LL him. He would come home stating he had a bad day or felt stressed. My child is suffering severe night terrors, severe anxiety, behavioral issues, and spiritual warfare from constant threats and bullying. It got to a point where I needed to withdraw him and get him professional counseling. Do not send your child here! They do not care about your child! They have their favorites.Parent Review4mo ago8 Reviews - Rudder Middle School

"We moved here specifically for the community, schools, and the perfect central locations to downtown and the airport. We enjoy the community events, the street parties, and the community organization. There are so many people walking their dogs daily, it’s just a feeling of a true community. "

"I have resided in San Antonio ZIP Code 78210 for two years and I can’t say unequivocally that the neighborhood is improving. I feel very safe in my neighborhood. The neighborhood is lacking grocery stores, restaurants, bars, or any kind of social evening nightlife really. The streets are relatively well kept in the sidewalks are as well. I feel very safe, but it’s nott necessarily a neighborhood where I would go out walking after 9 PM. Neighbors are friendly if you are proactive in speaking with them. It is about the least outgoing, bunch of neighbors I’ve ever had in terms of reaching out."

"We have a 4th of July neighborhood parade. People in the neighborhood bring out their chairs and sit on the lawn to watch their friends/neighbors parade down the street dressed for the occasion in red, white and blue. Dogs are included."
