I felt compelled to write a review about this school after reading some of the reviews already published. I graduated from this highschool a few years ago feeling very lost. Everything about this school was discouraging. The classes are boring and repetitive. The number of sports and extracurricular activities are extremely limited. Socially, Alexander is a very repressive school. Sexism from students and teachers is commonplace and the poor are judged openly here. The drug problem at the highschool is well known and the schools way of dealing with the drug problem is even worse. They often punish the drug addicted students with school suspensions and turning them in to the police, which only makes the students feel even more isolated and alone. I cannot support a school that uses negative reinforcement with children. After I graduated from Alexander, I attended Ohio University. I saw my fellow classmates drop like flies during their freshmen year until only a few went on the graduate. I had a few wonderful teachers here but the memories of Alexander have made me want to homeschool my own children.

"Country living not a lot of sidewalks but large yards and friendly neighbors. Not far outside of Albany they created a new all inclusive playground at the school that’s for community use"

"They would like that there’s not many dogs around here just running around they wouldn’t like that there’s a million cats running around the neighborhood. There’s no dog park but it’s pretty peaceful and a lot of people are pretty friendly "
