4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTheir lunch portions are small. They are very strict they make students put their phone away and take attendance by how many kids have phones in the holder on the wall. And if you’re caught with any type of Bluetooth device whether that be AirPods or any type of headphones or smartwatches. They are confiscated. And your parent will have to come pick them up. There are lots of issues at this school. May I mention they use this system called go guardian and it blocks everything and anything. Teachers may close down any tabs, set a tab limit example you’re only allowed to have 3 tabs open at all times. They even can lock down your computer. If you skip class you will get detention. If you have bad grades detention, too many absences detention. The key to how everything works at this school is giving you consequences in some way. Now don’t get me wrong the teachers at this school are so nice!! But the admin are not and I know it’s their job to be harsh and give consequences but it’s really bad. I wouldn’t recommend.Parent Review3y ago4 Reviews - Adobe Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur son attended Adobe Middle School 2017 - 2019 for 7th & 8th grade after relocating from Australia. The teachers we came across during those two years were very dedicated to their roles and always helpful and responsive. There were so many clubs, sporting options and extracurricular activities on offer for students. Each time we reached out to a teacher or front office, our emails were answered in a timely manner. Students were frequently rewarded and recognized for their efforts. In addition, there was extra tutoring available if needed before or after school, in particular, Math. As Australians, we were very impressed with the schooling in Elko, Nevada. Adobe Middle School staff and teachers should be very proud.Parent Review5y ago3 Reviews - Mountain View Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBefore the administration changes, this school was great. However, the past three years have been wrought with problems regarding discipline, recess access, free restroom access, and lunchroom management issues. For reference, Elko County has adopted a 4-day school week with 8-hour school days for K-12. Bad behavior is dealt with by restricting access to recess or taking recess minutes away without communication with the parent or guardian. If a teacher has recess duty, the student is made to "walk the line", referring to painted white lines on the pavement while others play. Some teachers use "teacher bucks" for access to the restroom, wherein students receive teacher bucks weekly and are made to ration them appropriately or choose to save them for a prize at the end of the year. If a student doesn't have enough teacher bucks for the restroom, they "owe" the teacher a buck when they are distributed. Students are encouraged to wait to use the restroom during lunch and recess breaks. Lunchroom management includes a handful of "lunch ladies" walking around with garbage cans, making sure students are eating their food and being silent during quiet time. If students are caught talking during this time, they are told to "get on the wall", which means they have to take their belongings and stand against one of four walls within the lunchroom and get lunch recess minutes taken away. Some Lunch aides seem unforgiving and have been witnessed berating students who misbehave. Issues brought to Mtn. View administration is blown off at best. The principal seems uninterested in any conflict management and seems adversarial to parents who bring concerns. The vice principal is flippant and rude to anyone who disagrees with her or causes her to do "extra work". The counselor is disinterested at best, negligent at worst. She doesn't communicate well with parents or students and is often not around to help where she is needed. The only silver lining is the saint of a nurse who has seemingly taken on the duties of counselor and nurse. She communicates with parents very well and has always made my children feel safe and seen. My children hate going to school not only due to the absurdly long school day, but also because the staff is burned out, unpassionate, and cannot communicate better to help our students. This review will show you what school ratings just can't. I hope this helps whoever is looking for an honest review of Mtn. View Elementary.Parent Review1y ago8 Reviews - Flagview Intermediate School

"Good hard working people with a genuine concern for others! Nice schools with community sports programs for younger kids. Many events for such as fairs and festivals including rodeo and horse racing. Lots of outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing to keep the sportsman’s interest while walking trails and canyon hikes can be enjoyed by the entire family. "

"Elko is a booming mining/aging cattle town. Like any small town with a booming industry it's doing well and has a good housing market. Elko doesn't get most of what you are seeing on tv it's still quiet at night but being Nevada it has a nightlife that mainly stays downtown . Elko is like any other big money small town it has it's crime but it's mostly what you might read about in the paper afterwards. All in all its nice little town of you're into mining and enjoy high desert living. "
