8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school absolutely sucks. Get ready for your kids to get yelled at 24/7, not to mention the stem program here is bad. All the teachers are rude and there is rude and bad administration. Not to mention there was a student who was sexually assaulting girls for a while and nothing was done about it until parents were involved.Parent Review1y ago17 Reviews - South River High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSouth River is an excellent school regardless of whether your children are in STEM or not. The STEM program admission (and all other magnet program admissions in AACPS) are purely lottery based. No school in AACPS is pulling high achieving students from other clusters to boost their test scores. It’s not like how magnet program admissions work in Montgomery County. It’s true that STEM students are required to take two AP classes in their curriculum to graduate and that that could be influencing the high AP participation rate at SRHS, but all students at the school have access to AP courses, not just STEM students. This school has very dedicated teachers and very welcoming community. I agree that SRHS not being racially or socio-economically diverse is a huge con, and that sometimes the product of that is a school where some instances of racism are more likely to go unchecked, but most of the students are friendly and not racist at all. There were some incidents at the school two decades ago that gave the school a reputation for being “racist,” but SRHS has come a long way since then.Parent Review4y ago10 Reviews - Edgewater Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFive Stars. Amazing Principal, Mrs. Ramey. She is the #1 Champion of the kids. She is kind and firm and loved. She greets the kids in the morning as they get out of cars and sees them off in the afternoon. The children are encouraged to be kind to each other and it works. My experience is the kids are great to each other.Other Review7y ago4 Reviews - Check out schools near Roads.

"Nothing to say here because I’m not a dog owner so I don’t know nor care what they say or think. About the dogs or their owners. They seem to walk alone. "

"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for over 10 years. Overall folks are friendly, there are lots of younger families moving in which is good. Some of the older families may keep to themselves, but for the most part people get along it seems "

"Hit or miss mix of older unkempt homes, flipped houses, and first time home buyers/young families eager to get as close to Annapolis as possible with great schools and a pretty easy DC/Ft Meade commute. Has worked out great for us- we love it here and have made great new “adult” friends!"

"South River Landing is a super safe environment for children. There is a recently refurbished tot lot, a community pool, two tennis courts and a basketball goal, all arranged along private roads in a serene park-like setting. It is an oasis of quiet, calm & security. "

"We're right off of Mayo Road, close but not too close to Route 2. It's so easy to get to 97 & 50. Just drive to the top of the street, take a right onto Mayo, a right on 2 (aka Solomon's Island Road), cross the South River Bridge and you're there. Close to everything. The best of a nice quiet neighborhood and proximity to Annapolis, Baltimore and DC. ☮️"

"4th of July at Beach 3 is epic! We walk down with chairs and a cooler and hang out all evening with our community. There are great little playgrounds spread throughout the beaches. Also piers and boat slips. A great variety of homes makes for interesting walks. The schools are excellent and Edgewater Elementary is to be completely renovated in 2018-19."
