3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJust recently graduated in 2023, I had a good overall experience at Norwalk being very engaged in sports (Golf and Baseball Teams) and social events. At a school like Norwalk there’s definitely a mix of good and bad things and people which is why you need to surround yourself with good groups of people. Teachers really care and if you are a good student they are always willing to give you that extra push to get a better grade. Despite some low ratings the school teachers and staff do a really good job giving plenty of opportunities to help you succeed however these rating come from kids who decide to not take those opportunities. Be involved and surround yourself with good people and Norwalk High can be a really nice place to be.Other Review2y ago5 Reviews - Silvermine Dual Language Magnet School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth of my children have loved Silvermine! One just finished his first year of middle school and as a result of the excellent education he received at Silvermine has had high honors all year. My other son will be going into third grade, is performing well above average, AND is learning to speak Spanish. The teachers and the rest of the staff have always been helpful and super-responsive when I have had any questions. Low test scores overall are most likely due to this being a dual language program so it is not fair to compare it directly to other schools that teach English-only classes. I bet if they look at test scores in a few years, the student will be completely on par or above AND have the benefits of bilingual education.Parent Review4y ago18 Reviews - West Rocks Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you’re looking for a school that has mastered the art of doing absolutely nothing, you’ve found it. To say this place is a mess would be an insult to messes. The leadership is completely checked out, the communication is non-existent, and the atmosphere feels more like a waiting room than a place of learning. It’s actually impressive how little anyone cares here from the broken facilities that never get fixed to the constant feeling that you’re just a number in a spreadsheet. This isn't an environment where students thrive; it’s an environment where you just try to survive until the final bell rings. Save yourself the stress and go literally anywhere else. Zero stars wouldn't even be low enough. I'm transferring my kid to Ponus Ridge.Parent Review3mo ago3 Reviews - Check out schools near River Rd.

"We’ve lived in Norwalk since 2019 and really love it here! The beach is fantastic, the parks are lovely, so many easy access to shops, and a plethora of amazing restaurants, not to mention activities for kids. The only downside for me is systemic issues with BoE and quality of schools."

"There are great educational opportunities in the area which includes a Magnet School. The neighbourhood is in walking distance to downtown entertainment, local parks, waterfronts, and the transit (bus and/or train) are easily accessible. There is a variety of religious institutions no matter your beliefs. The hospital and police station are close by. More importantly, what gives this town its charm is the people. A diverse community of individuals who found a way to blend their cultural differences to make a place feel like home. "

"This is a neighborhood in the real sense. People not only look out for each other. We mow each other’s lawns, shovel each other’s driveways, watch out for each other’s children. We LOVE each other as neighbors, regardless of race, religion, marital status, kids, or any other exclusion. We love anyway. "
