10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageA well rounded school where my son was academically challenged and engaged in many extra curricular activities over his four years. He had wonderful teachers and equally great coaches. Kids were overall nice but he also came directly from the local middle school with a strong friend group. Also plenty of clubs so most kids find their footing pretty quickly The only negative experience my son ever had was with the athletic director who was on numerous occasions rude, arrogant and very condescending to other athletes (and their parents) that are not football players.Parent Review4mo ago21 Reviews - Louise Van Meter Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter has been at Van Meter since TK, and is now in 2nd grade. Each teacher she has had is absolutely delightful and you can tell they love what they do which is so important. The teachers and staff are all warm and welcoming. My daughter enjoys learning and when she doesn't love a subject, the teachers do their best to keep her engaged and make it interesting for her. I am so impressed with the culture. They have what's called "Bulldog Way" and the kids really abide by it: "Be Safe, Respectful, Responsible, and Kind". I love the school so much I joined the Home and School Club board to get involved. We host many community events to get to know other families. It's such a great community, we truly love it.Parent Review1y ago13 Reviews - Raymond J. Fisher Middle School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJust feel like the warnings I was given regarding teachers, bullying and support (all negative for the most part) remains accurate based on what I see and hear. And where does all the money go?!!! No field trips??? Wild. Paying for sports?! Donations for what?!?Parent Review1y ago14 Reviews - Check out schools near Pine St.

"The shared sense of pride in our beloved town, from its small town humble beginnings to its explosion during the dot com boom. Despite the rapid growth, which has brought amazing new businesses, events, and community events, Los Gatos still maintains that small town feel and still holds its traditional events and many of the same restaurants that I grew up going to. There are tons of block parties, community events and classes, garage/estate sales, and just a great vibe downtown, especially during the summer and any given Sunday at the coffee roaster and farmers market. During the summer months - Music in the park on Sunday evenings and jazz in the Plaz on Wednesdays Tons of walking/running, biking and hiking trails and we are 20 minute drive to downtown Santa Cruz and the boardwalk"

"It’s a beautiful town nestled up on the Santa Cruz Mountains. A great downtown with an old movie theater and great restaurants. The one big downside is all the beach traffic in summer weekends but it’s so walkable just leave your car behind those 13 weekends a year and walk or bike. "

"Good access to freeways, though not immediate. Close enough to centers of work and the airport, but far enough away not to feel congested. Light traffic. "

"Lots of kids. Safe here. Excellent schools. Just a great town. But this is not like some cities where it’s all about academics. This town values sports and hobbies along with academics. "
