Many of the positive reviews for this school reflect the leadership of a former principal who was truly exceptional. Unfortunately, the current administration is a very different story. The principal and secretary are unapproachable, dismissive, and, in my experience, even bullying toward parents. There’s a clear message that families are not welcome as active participants in their children’s education.That said, the teachers continue to do a wonderful job and clearly care about their students. It’s unfortunate that their efforts are overshadowed by an administration that creates a toxic and unwelcoming environment for parents.

"Quiet and safe. Schools are the best you will get in West Virginia. Near Kanawha State Forest. Few sidewalks. Neighborhoods are low traffic. "

"People have get togethers at Halloween. And we have a few community yard sales. Most residents here are very friendly and always stop to say hi or make a small conversation. Lots of dog walkers and children. A lot of the back yards are sparsely wooded so the children love to play out back. "

"We have large yard sales and of course, trick or treating. We have lots of neighbors who have dogs and we have stations for the owners that supply them with doggie poo bags. Everyone cleans up their mess. "

"Most people in this neighborhood like dogs, they take them back to their owners if they get out. The main danger is the steady flow of vehicles driving around. Always one of my concerns when leaving home "
