9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school absolutely sucks. The scores may be high, but that is only because the pressure us to make the high scores. They don't truly care about the students' well being, only how the school is seen on the outside. Everything is centered around sports, especially football. I am in showchoir and we have to pay every penny ourselves with no help from the school. The highschool spent 7 million dollars on a football field that was not needed whatsoever, and cut back on the budget for everything else. The gifted studies program used to extend into 8th grade and they have now cut it back to 6th because of funding issues. Many of the teachers are rude and don't care about the students. Some even target certain students because of their appearence, which definitely isn't uncommon in Petal. The principal is nice enough, but like I said before, he only really focuses on sports and how our school is seen by others. There is also a strict uniform, which of course has it's benefits, but keeps us students from expressing ourselves. I have no earthly idea how this school got a 10/10.Teacher Review14y ago1 Reviews - Petal Upper Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers here are great! However, the office staff and assistant principal have very bad attitudes. They will also talk about you loud enough for you to hear, and then ask you to leave the room so they can continue talking about you. I have several witnesses to this. I can not wait to get my youngest child out of this school. All other petal schools are great but petal primary staff needs some work!!!Parent Review9y ago3 Reviews - Petal High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averageused to bee good but they implemented new rules that WERE not really NEEDED at ALL since 2023 the school is a 1 and a half star in my personal opinion. my student keeps complaining to me NONSTOP about the new Absurd rules. but for example 2021-2022 I would get it a 4-5 star rating. rules were reasonable students who could be more effective when multitasking did great! BUT NOW THEY SEEM TO ONLY LET MY STUDENT DO 1 THING AT ONCE! and the new device polocy SUCK I would like to be able to track my students location when there are at school and the new rules make this VERY hard! also the school has suddenly became WAY WAY too stricken . I almost want to switch my students school because of this!!! THANKS these new rules are so oOoOO helpfully.Parent Review2y ago4 Reviews - Petal Elementary School

"This is a very quiet friendly neighborhood. There are children that play in the neighborhood, however this is a neighborhood that people tend to stay and grow rather than move, so there are not too many children. "

"This is a growth explosion area. With all the new high tech jobs moving into the area within the next 3-5 years, expect property values to double. All expansion road work will be complete by summer of 2012 so don't allow that to deter your buying choices. Also, expect to see a new super walmart and all downtown chains to relocate to the parkway within the next 24 months."
