Especially in college when you hear and can compare your experience with those that went to a different highschool. The one thing I will say is you get what you put in. 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs per the special education department, this school is horrendous. It’s unbelievable what the special education department can get away with when dealing with your special needs child. Ask around and you will hear how terrible this school is. I didn’t listen and thought people were over exaggerating. Boy was I wrong. I had to get my child out and decided to moved a few years ago. I uprooted my entire family for my daughter. They left me no choice. I’m not familiar with their general education, however, unfortunately, very familiar with their special education program. I am a teacher myself and cannot believe this school still has a program. They should be shut down.Parent Review6y ago5 Reviews - School 9m Oceanside Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis middle school is tops. Multiple elementary schools meet up in the middle school. For 500+ students, the team divisions are efficient and break each team to form deep bonds with teachers and amongst the students. Course offerings, extra curriculum and bussing is abundant.Parent Review2y ago7 Reviews - Check out schools near Mott.

"Close to the beach. LIRR conveniently located with ample parking. Oceanside has tons of shopping and you really do not have to leave the neighborhood to get anything. Costco and Old Navy recently opened and that has added even more choices for shopping. Oceanside has a great school district"

"Love the area. Schools are great for gifted as well as special needs children. Lots of activities for children before, after and off school hours. Plenty of places to shop to meet all your needs. Close to public transportation lines (buses and trains), the beach, and parkways. Friendly people and neighbors. Excellent library system. Rentals can be a bit steep, but no slum landlords in town. Businesses are steadily prospering. No major disaster after Storm Sandy except for water view homes. Community is very supportive of businesses and neighbors. Would love to see stores open a little bit earlier and later than 9-5 for the working community. Overall, safe, clean, friendly."
