I’m a student here, and there is a disregard for bullying and many other issues. Many of the problems with other students are simply said to be a “he said, she said” kinda of situation. I have been called slurs and have faced racial discrimination. Bullying is a problem in this school and it’s not taken seriously enough. I fear asking for helping from teachers when struggling on assignments due to fear of being ridiculed. You are expecting to remember things you learned years ago, and some teachers simply give you work without explaining it. Others give articles and have you take notes without actually teaching. Students learn in many way but many of those ways are not accommodated. I have had an incident with another student that led the principal to blame me, not contact a parent, and more. The first problem was the fact they did not contact one of my parents to let them know, infact I was the only reason my parents knew. Then when asked why the child was not moved from all of my classes, the principal blamed me and stated that I did not request for the child to be moved from all classes and simply said the one that the incident happened in was the only one I requested. But I am a child and that choice should have been discussed with a parent, not just me alone. I will admit that the principal was attentive during then and asked for my opinion. She also later took accountability for not moving the kid from all my classes, and she apologized which I respect from her. She also looks forward to improving the school, so k will admit that she does not neglect her responsibilities. Moving on, I find that guidance tends to relatively helpful. She gives advice and listens to situations, offering different perspectives and suggestions. She handles things calmly and respectfully, though others might have different views on her. There are many only complaints to be added about the lack of care in this school, but I’ll refrain from stating anything more. Please rethink your choice of coming to this school, or if a teacher sees this, rethink your teaching methods. This school is a hassle.

Public schools introduce our kids to a lot of evil that’s in this world. It’s sad to see how children are trying to change who they are at such a young age. I believe that all public schools need to improve in the morals that they are following. For they are teaching up the future generations

The information on great schools is not current! The 2010-2011 school year is the second year in which Mason has been SAU89, serving students in grades K-5. During middle school and high school, our students attend Milford. Mason is not part of Mascenic Regional. It would suffice to say Mason Elementary is a hidden gem! The teachers are passionate about their work. The smaller class size allows children to receive attention & be challenged, and communication is easy. All school staff, not just primary teachers, are recognized for their important roles. Our students curriculum is enhanced with specials that include music, French, art, PE, and computer lab. Let's not forget food services- real homemade food is offered. Plus, kids have outdoor recess at a beautiful playground. This year we have a drama club to include actors and artists. Mason is not large enough to support its own sports teams, but parents can easily access sports through neighboring towns. If you are considering a move to or within NH, don't overlook this great town with a great school that is continuing to grow and improve.
